Gentle and Quiet Spirit in the Midst of the Storm

Wow, what life can throw your way. I am reminded more and more each day how important it is to choose a gentle and quiet spirit. To not be anxious and distressed with the things happening around me and to quiet the storm or emotions from the inside with a word of prayer. Oh how quickly things get out of hand on either side and anxiety wins out. As 1 Peter 1:13&15 states "Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hopefully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ....but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct." Today it's my choice to respond in a manner that is encouraging and peaceful to whomever and in whatever situation I find myself in. Today I will serve others and put to death my pride that can rise like a two headed dragon. Today I will choose to be still and see the needs around me and encourage those who walk along the path with me. Today, I will not be anxious, for it is written in Philippians 4:6 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."
